Coolest portfolio!

Gong Hei Fat Choi!

The past two weeks have been very exciting not only here but also around the world!  Last week was of course the innauguration of Barrack Obama, the 44th POTUS!  All around campus people gathered to watch this historical event live.  We even had students watching in person from DC as well as getting be involved in the parade!  The admission staff watched it live on our TV here in the rinker room and all throughout that day I participated in the Facebook/CNN live online viewing which was really cool!
This week of course as you might have gathered from the title of the this post is the beginning of the Chinese Lunar New Year!  This year is the year of the Ox!

Decision letters continue to go out every week, so if you have your application complete, keep an eye on your mail box!  If your application is not complete, but sure to send missing items in ASAP!

In other good news, I am going to be heading to South Korea for a Global Consulting Project with Crummer during project period.  I am very excited to go and am really looking forward to experiencing another cool new place!
Last but not least, I ran my first 5k (5.2 actually) here in Winter Park, FL for the Seasons 52 Park Avenue 5.2k(you can see me on the far right and Jeanne just a step behind me)!

Happy first day of spring semester 2009!

As the spring semester starts today, I thought I would go ahead and update everyone as far as upcoming events and deadlines for students.  In the upcoming weeks we are going to be mailing out a lot of decision letters to both Early Decision Round 2 applicants as well as Regular Decision applicants!  So if your file is complete and in to our office, we are working hard on reading them and getting decision letters out the door!  If you are missing a few things, I would recommend getting things in as soon as possible so that you too can hear about your decision soon!

 Check your application status.

Apply now!

In other news we are starting a busy season of having lots of visitors to our campus and we would really like you to be one of them!  In addition to our daily tours, we will be having some other events on campus which I will tell you more about as it gets closer to them!

Schedule a visit to campus.

Finally here in Florida we had some big news in that the University of Florida Gators won the 2009 BCS National Championship!  This is of course big news to my family as my parents are both Gator alumni.  On the Rollins sports front, our women’s basketball coach, Glenn Wilkes, Jr. won his 500th game as head coach of the Tars!

Welcome 2009 (an end of the year recap)

Well it has been a little bit since I have posted anything, but as I was busy enjoying a relaxing holiday, I decided to stay away from the computer as much as possible.  I spent Christmas in Atlanta this year and it was almost cold enough to make it feel like winter.  There was absolutely no chance of snow, but it was still good!  It was great spending some time at home with the family, taking in a Thrashers/Leafs game, and just not working for a little while!

Shortly after Santa's visit, I hopped on a plane to Washington, DC where I spent the rest of my break and celebrated the New Year.  In addition to doing a few touristy things and seeing family, most of our time was spent just relaxing and enjoying the break.  Some highlights of the trip were the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Center by Dulles airport, spending some time in Georgetown, and Granville Moore's  on H Street(awesome Moules et Frites and was featured on Throwdown with Bobby Flay!).

Now that we are in 2009, it is back to work and time to get everything settled with the class of 2013!!  Early Decision Round 1 acceptances are out the door and Round 2 decisions are going out as they are made!  If you haven't applied yet, feel free to right after you finish reading! (Click here)

Here on campus we are in our winter intersession week which is a 1 week class term which is optional for students.  The spring 2009 semester begins next Monday and with that, we will see our students starting to trickle back in the latter half of this week.  For anyone in colder climates considering taking a trip soon to come visit Rollins, just take a look at today's weather:  Sunny and a high of 82* F!!!

 Happy 2009!
